Police identify mystery man.

A MAN found unconscious in Liverpool city centre has been formally identified by police.

PatrickCrawford, 29, originally from Glasgow, was found in Water Street with blood pouring from his head.

Police were unsure whether he had been attacked or had fallen over. However, they have established he was involved in an argument in ParadiseStreet car park on Wednesday night.

Mr Crawford is known to have spent time with homeless people. He has been in a critical condition in hospital since the incident early last Thursday morning.

In the previous couple of hours he had been seen wandering around the Pier Head, James Street and theStrand.

Two men arrested in relation to the incident have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who knows what happened to Mr Crawford and to the man who phoned the ambulance for him.
