Police hunt tyre slasher.

A TYRE slasher is roaming the streets of South Bank armed with a "huge, huge knife".

He was captured on CCTV at 1am on Saturday morning targeting a car and a van on Briggs Avenue.

But the victim said he was not the only one to suffer, with the vandal striking "tens" of other vehicles in the South Bank area on different nights.

Footage shows the hooded figure ride to the house on his BMX, calmly dismount, take out a knife and then jab the tyres of a car and van.

His weapon, described by the victim as a "huge, huge knife" can be seen clearly glinting in the light.

"I have been told there's lots of cars done on Friday night," the victim told Teesside Live.

"It is a random act of vandalism. There's no reason for it.

"He just walks up and puts the knife through.

"You can see the huge, huge knife." He added: "People need to be aware what's happening at that time of night.

"We have tried to get the police involved, but because no one was hurt there's nothing they can do about it.

"I just want to raise awareness." Anyone with information should contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.co.uk.
