Police detain 9 wanted men southwest of Kirkuk.

KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: Nine wanted men were arrested on Wednesday during a raid in southwest of Kirkuk, chief of the Kirkuk Districts Police Department said. "Acting on intelligence information on armed elements suspected of perpetrating crimes against policemen and civilians, a joint force from the KDPD and army forces raided a house in southwest of Kirkuk , where they arrested nine wanted men," Brigadier Sarhad Qader told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. "Four motorcycles were seized during the operation," he added. "A clash flared up during the operation but without casualties," he noted. Kirkuk is 280 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (TP)
