Police crackdown against criminals, 86 arrested.

MULTAN -- The police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested 86 criminals including 48 proclaimed offenders and five court absconders in a crackdown against antisocial elements across the district.

According to police, police raided at various places and arrested 48 proclaimed offenders and five court absconders wanted by police in different cases of dacoities, robberies, theft and other crimes.

Police unearthed a distillery and arrested eight drug peddlers during separate raids and recovered 72 litre liquor, 100 litre locally made wine and 1.460 kilogram of Hashish from their possession. An illegal weapon holder and 22 gamblers were also apprehended by the police with one pistol, bullets and stake money Rs 31030, police added.

A motorcyclist was arrested for doing wheelie while a firework seller held with fireworks.

Cases have been registered against the accused.
