Police blitz is a big success.

A TOTAL of 35 people have been arrested during a month-long blitz in inner city Birmingham.

Operation Intrusive Six sought to deny criminals the streets in a number of crime-hit locations in Aston, Nechells, Erdington, Alum Rock and Ward End.

The arrests were made for offences such as theft, drugs and breach of bail. There were also 250 fixed penalty notices issued.

Acting Supt Darren Miles said: ''The feedback we've had is very positive and the fact there has been such a large reduction in crime is a fantastic result."
