Police asked to chalk out district-based crime profiles.

Karachi -- In order to contain rising crimes in Sindh province, inspector general police Sindh Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari asked all SSPs to chalk out crime profiles at district basis within a week, with special focus to trend of crimes and progress in case investigation.

Chairing a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office here Tuesday, he said stern steps be taken against extortionists and vehicle snatchers. He said focus should be given to proper forensic investigation. He said the anti-Bhatta cell should be upgraded and measures taken to cope with the rising bank robberies.

He instructed to enhance intelligence gathering, patrolling and surveillance so that result-oriented targeted actions could be taken against criminal gangs.
