Police arrests 24 POs, weapons recovered.

LAKKI MARWAT -- Police on Wednesday claimed to have captured two dozen proclaimed offenders and seized huge cache of illegal weapons from anti social elements during a special cleanup operation in parts of the district.

An official told this correspondent that the operation was launched on the directives of district police Chief Syed Khalid Hamdani who had received information about the presence of outlaws in the area. \"The commandos of Elite Force and anti Terror Squad also assisted police to make actions against criminals successful\", he said.

He said that police rounded up 24 proclaimed offenders who were wanted by police in murder, attempted murder and cases of heinous nature.

\"The cops also seized illegal weapons, ammunition and contraband items from anti social elements and registered cases against them\", he maintained. The official said that the seizure items included an AK 47 assault rifle, six shotguns, ten pistols, 292 bullets and over two kilogram hashish.

He said that the law enforcers also checked 27 houses and 25 hotels in different parts of the district in search of miscreants. He also said that the district police officer had directed subordinate police officials to intensify campaign against outlaws and make actions result oriented.
