Police appeal over break-ins.

DETECTIVES in Stokesley are investigating following a spate of break-ins.

Four incidents, believed to be linked, were reported overnight in the area between Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7. During one break-in an expensive racing bike worth pounds 1,650 was stolen from a property on Crowood Avenue.

The blue Bianchi Infinito carbon cycle was taken between 5pm on Tuesday, and 10pm the following night.

Another property was broken into in nearby Meadowfield between noon on December 6 and 7.25pm the next day, while the occupant was in hospital.

Offenders gained entry to the property through the rear patio doors. It is unknown if anything was stolen.

A house was broken into in Rosehill Drive though nothing was taken, and a property on Beechwood Avenue was also entered, but the burglars left empty handed after being disturbed by an alarm.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious should call North Yorkshire Police on 0845 6060247, select option two, and ask for Det Con Karen Barugh, or Northallerton CID.
