Poland's Empik to acquire stake in Ukrainian bookseller.
Empik, a book chain based in Poland, has revealed that it is to purchase a majority stake Bukva, a bookseller in Ukraine.
Empik is reportedly a subsidiary of publicly-traded NFI Empik Media & Fashion, an operator of consumer brands on the Polish market.
The agreement for Empik's purchase of a 65% share in Bukva was signed in August. Empik will reportedly pay USD6.38m for the stake.
According to the Kyiv Post, the deal still needs to be approved by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
