Point; LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.

SIR - Is it true that the Assembly is planning to give old Labour councillors a golden handshake of pounds 10,000, in the attempt to bring in younger councillors?

The councillors of Plaid Cymru The Party of Wales will have to wait a long time before they get that kind of golden handshake, as most of them are a long way off retirement age. I can also understand why some Labour councillors are against a PR system for councils. This would produce more Plaid Cymru councillors and fewer Labour and Independent ones too. I wish Tony Blair and George Bush fought the war on poverty with the same vigour as their war on terrorism.
