Pleasing project.

Byline: By Carol Malia

The Tyne is involved in another great shipbuilding project.

Haven't been able to say that for a while but it's true. Soon to be seen gliding down the slipway will be a pounds 30m newly refitted hospital ship bound for the coast of Africa.

Stagecoach transport tycoon Ann Gloag, pictured, and Virgin's Richard Branson have funded it and I applaud them, even more so for giving the contract to Hebburn's Cammell Laird.

Tyne craftsmanship on display again in such a commendable way.
