Pleaseletmewin, Meblsh shine.

HH the Emir's Sword Festival set for a grandstand finish Tribune News Network DOHA Injaaz Stud's Pleaseletmewin produced an inspired run to snatch the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup (Group 2) Race, the most significant event on the second day of the ongoing HH the Emir's Sword Festival on Friday. In front of a large gathering at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Racecourse in New Al Rayyan, the four-year-old bay gelding, trained by Qatar's No. 1 trainer Jassim Mohammed Ghazali Jahromi, was made to jump to the lead by rider Martin Harley from third spot when the runners began to launch themselves after the final turn of the 1,600m race. The early dash by Pleaseletmewin probably caught others by surprise. Diplomat (Alexander Peitsch) responded and soon Vitally Important, ridden by Faleh al Bughanaim, came to the front from outside after diverting from the inside. Both Diplomat and Vitally Important tried to overtake Pleaseletme win but the Injaaz Stud horse held on to his charge and wrapped up the win by short head to a massive cheers of the crowd, upsetting many higher-rated challengers. Vitally Important, a Hadi Nasser Rashid al Ramzani trainee, managed to edge out Diplomat for the second place by three quarters of a length. Gordon Lory Byron (Billy Lee) and Al Mohalhal (Jean Baptiste Hamel) were fourth and fifth, respectively. For Pleaseletmewin, this was the second victory in 10 races in Doha, besides a win abroad. The success enabled rider Harley complete a double on his debut in Doha and trainer Jahromi a fine treble. Harley earlier guided Ishfaq to his first win in two runs in Doha when the five-year-old gray colt, owned by Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalifa al Thani and trained by Pierre Deymonaz, overcame a stiff challenge from Mohssn (cristian Demueo) by neck in the Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate. Ishfaq also upstaged several higher-rated horses for his maiden success in the 2,000m race. The third place went to Hatem (Theo Bachelot). The Gulf Cup over 1,600m was the second biggest race of the day. Meblsh, a ward of Badar bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Hajri from Oman, clinched it for Saad Suhail Salim al Mukhaini Bahwan by two and a half lengths against Zahwa (Gerald Avranche). Sharesa (Demuro) secured the third place by a quarter length, while Rassan (Harry Bentley) and Majnona (Bachelot) grabbed the fourth and fifth places, respectively. The British rider Bentley also had double winners. He first took Caid De L'Ardus across the finish line over two and a half lengths ahead of Almuheet in the Purebred Arabian Sprint Cup. The six-year-old bay horse, owned by Khalifa bin Sheail al Kuwari, displayed plenty of power and stamina before coming home for his eighth win in 15 races in Doha and overall 10th in 17 runs. Bentley and Mosayter combined to pull off the Local Thoroughbred Trophy over 1,400m distance to help trainer Jahromi finish with a triple and owner Khalifa bin Sheail al Kuwari with a fine double. The dark brown colt got the better of the Hadi Nasser Rashid al Ramzai trainee Al Lusail by short head for his fourth victory the second with Bentley. Mango Tango (Eduardo Pedroza) emerged the winner in the Thoroughbreds (fillies and Mares) Class 3 1,600m, beating Botanica (JP Guillambert) by one and a half lengths. This was the fifth triumph for the five-year-old bay filly, owned by Abdulatif Hussain al Emadi, and four this season alone. Black Orange (Pierantonio Convertino) and Semaisima (Naomie Heller) won the Thoroughbred Plate and Longine World Fegentri Championship run, respectively.
