Please can we take them home with us?

THESE chicks who visited a reception class at Wheelwright Lane Primary School were so cute all the pupils wanted to take them home.

Reception class teacher Louise Di Darto arranged for the chicks to be brought into the class at the school in Wheelwright Lane, Ash Green as part of a lessons in how things grow.

There were three ducklings along with buff chicks, Rhode Island Red chicks, Light Sussex chicks, baby Peking bantams and a baby silver Partridge.

The four and five-yearold pupils picked them up, took pictures of them and learnt how they had hatched from eggs and how they will now need warmth and food to grow.

Mrs Di Darto said: "They all held them and watched them in their own environment. They learnt the importance of warmth, food and water for the chicks. The pupils were ecstatic and wanted to take the chicks home with them."
