Play area cash plan is in the bag.

STAFF and pupils at a Coventry primary school hope their fundraising efforts will bag them a new play area.

Whitley Abbey School, in Ashington Grove, Whitley, is in need of a new secure playing area for its reception class and it's all hands to the pump.

Head teacher Nancy Starritt said: "Each of the 170 pupils has been given a bag with pounds 1 in it with the promise to try and turn it into pounds 5 through sponsorship."

Mrs Starritt herself has been given a giant swag bag to try to fill.

The school will launch an appeal for the pounds 30,000 play area next month.
