Plaudits for Malaysian Award.

Malaysia's National Award for Management Accounting Best Practice (Nafma) gained international recognition recently when it won the Xerox Innovation Award in the Invention and New Product Exposition (Inpex) 2005 in Pittsburgh.

Inpex, the largest invention trade show in the US, showcases more than 2,000 products a year. Entries are judged on the basis of usefulness, creativity and overall appeal. Nafma is organised by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and CIMA Malaysia Division, with partners in the Asian Management Accounting Research Centre and the National Productivity Corporation. The Malaysian delegation was represented by Normah Omar and Suzana Sulaiman from University Teknologi Mata, members of Nafma's organising committee.

"We must promote Nafma to organisations in Malaysia," Ornar said. "Winning the award will be meaningless if our people do not appreciate what we have achieved internationally with Nafma."

Yeo Tek Ling, chair of the organising committee, urged all Malaysian firms to compete in Nafma 2005. Visit for more details.
