Platform Dynamics Announces Major Enhancements to Its Blockbuster Product Platform Dynamics Recycle Bin for EMC Documentum.

When managing enterprise content, the ability to rapidly recover objects and their metadata is paramount! The result was Platform Dynamics Recycle Bin (PDRB) which provides instantaneous recovery through the familiar Recycle Bin paradigm. Platform Dynamics has taken this technology to the next level by providing functionality that allows PDRB administrators to monitor and manage user's Recycle Bins across the enterprise.

SHELTON, Conn. -- Platform Dynamics today announces Platform Dynamics Recycle Bin Release 2.1 is available for customers. This release extends functionality from the prior version to include an administrative component that aligns with EMC's Information Life-Cycle Management (ILM) strategy. New features include: auto-purge of Recycle Bins based on business rules, object expungement by users and/or PDRB administrators, enhanced security, usage reports by Recycle Bin size or by user, improved configurability, and utilities that extend the ability to manage user Recycle Bins across the enterprise.

PDRB provides functionality for EMC Documentum clients, similar to that of Microsoft[R] Windows Recycle Bin. In leveraging familiarity that users have with this type of technology, PDRB represents a product that can be rapidly deployed and readily used. PDRB offers a familiar and comprehensive method to eliminate the administrative overhead of performing complex restore processes.

"The recycle bin restore process is well understood and widely-accepted. Microsoft's decision to include an enhanced version on their Top Ten list of initiatives for SharePoint underscores the recycle bin's significance as a key component of any serious content management solution," said Joseph Martins, managing member of Data Mobility Group. "Platform Dynamics extension of its PRDB technology to include administrative capabilities is a win for EMC's customers looking to minimize the costs and maximize the flexibility of their recovery processes."

Customer acceptance of PDRB has been extremely high because it is off-the-shelf, easy to configure, deploy and use. "I didn't fully appreciate the value in the ability to deploy technology without any training, until I was told by one of our clients that following their installation, all that was required was a simple email notification alerting users of this added functionality," said Elaine Price, founder and president of Platform Dynamics. "This is a major benefit to our clients, as typically training sessions are required for technology they deploy."

PDRB makes the object recovery process simple and instantaneous. It ensures higher data protection and availability and reduces data loss. PDRB provides the capability for a user to recover any folders or documents they deleted without having to involve an administrator. Content, metadata and relationships are recovered intact. This capability significantly reduces the management cost associated to recovery.

Platform Dynamics Recycle Bin has been accredited by EMC with the "Designed for EMC" logo, a mark of quality and value that customers insist on in enterprise applications.
