Plans to expand Germany's Hahn Airport.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

German officials have reportedly agreed on plans for an expansion project at Hahn Airport.

The project at the airport - a former US air base now used by Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair - is expected to include the lengthening of the runway to 12,470 feet enabling the airport to be used for direct intercontinental flights, and new aircraft parking places and taxiways.

The project is estimated to take five years to complete at a cost of around EUR120m.
