Planetary Gearhead Provides Maximum Corrosion Resistance.

India, March 24 -- Thomson Industries has introduced Micron AquaTRUE planetary gearheads, specifically designed to satisfy the demanding performance requirements of food, beverage and pharmaceutical handling, packaging and dispensing applications.

The Micron AquaTRUE Planetary Gearheads feature 300 series stainless steel external housings for maximum corrosion resistance, and are IP67 protected to provide reliable operation and long life in environments subject to caustic cleaning chemicals and high pressure washdown.

The external housing is round with no external seams to eliminate the potential for bacteria collection or ingress, which would otherwise result in interior damage, compromised performance and shorten operating life.

The planetary gearheads are available in 60, 80, 120 and 160 mm frame sizes, with ratios from 3:1 to 10:1, torque capacity up to 876 Nm and precision to 13 arc-min. The product is suitable in washdown and/or corrosive environments such as meat/poultry slicing, beverage dispensing, medical hygienic and pharmaceutical applications, among others.

The gearheads are used in high precision motion control applications that require a high torque to volume ratio, high torsional stiffness and low backlash. The gearheads are self-lubricating and have high radial load capacity for any given size.
