Ed. by Jill Carter et al.
Human Kinetics Pub.
Developed by the Harvard School of Public Health and implemented in field trials by teachers and children, the curriculum described in this volume encourages active, inquiry-based learning, emphasizes literacy across the curriculum, and addresses national learning standards. The 33 lesson plans provide nutrition activities for language arts, math, science, and social studies classes, and 31 brief PE lessons about the health benefits of different physical activities. The second edition reflects current dietary guidelines and adds a CD-ROM containing student handouts and fact sheets for parents.
