Plane conspiracy case baseless, false: Advocate Gen Punjab.

ISLAMABAD, 10 June, 2009 (Frontier Star) --Advocate General Punjab Khawaja Haris said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had made no attempt to hijack former army chief Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf plane and whatever order he had given he had issued in the capacity of prime minister adding therefore, there was no justification in instituting plane hijacking case against the former premier. He submitted this during the course of hearing of plane hijacking conspiracy case against Nawaz Sharif in the Supreme Court (SC) here Wednesday. The SC bench was led by justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani and other judges were justice Nasir ul Mulk, justice Sheikh Hakim Ali, justice Moosa K Leghari and Justice Ghulam Rabbani. Resuming his arguments, advocate general Punjab Khawaja Haris said the plane hijacking conspiracy case registered against Mina Nawaz Sharif was false and baseless and the material worked out by the government in the trial of this case was based on malafide intent adding the statements recorded by the witnesses were contradictory. The hearing of the case was further adjourned till Thursday.
