Pirate lad: I swear it was ghost.
Thomas McGair, 18, swore at officers who were about to arrest him, a court heard yesterday.
When cautioned and charged, he said: "It wisnae me, it was the pirate."
Sheriff Rajni Swanney said he was intrigued - but the new explanation was just as bizarre.
Defence lawyer Andrew Kennedy told Greenock Sheriff Court: "In fact, he was in a state of agitation because he claims he had just seen a ghost."
He said the behaviour suggested McGair had taken drugs or drunk too much, but he denied this.
McGair, of Glasgow, admitted a breach of the peace in Gourock, Renfrewshire, last October.
Sentence was deferred.
