Pink 'When I'm chubby I think I look kind of great' Well, clearly she's not, but doncha love her even more for saying that? The singer, 33, talks about her amazing body image (too right), adoring her food, why relationships aren't perfect and wanting a brood of babies. See? Love her.

Byline: Words: Rachel Corcoran.

You don't really know what to expect when you meet Pink. She could be proper scary. The pop icon - known to her mum as Alecia Beth Moore - has been bothering the charts for a whopping 13 years now, and is a force to be reckoned with. She's not your typical, fluffy, pretty pop star type. She looks, to be fair, well hard.

Thankfully she's very much non-scary in the flesh. In fact, when we meet her in a London hotel, she makes us feel like one of her bezzie mates almost immediately, with her banter.

The 33-year-old doesn't look all tough and rough either - she looks annoyingly flawless, even though she's not had much sleep - her 18-month-old daughter Willow isn't handling the jetlag after their trip from Los Angeles. 'Babies don't respect jetlag,' she laughs. 'They don't respect much actually, especially hangovers!' Not that it's put Pink offhaving any more. In fact, she's after a rainbow family a la Brangelina

BABY LOVE

'I'd like five kids,' she says. 'I want to adopt. We have four rescue dogs and we'd like some rescue children as well! How amazing are Brad and Angelina though? I don't know how they do it, I have one kid and I'm exhausted. I don't do one-sixteenth of what that woman does.'

What does her motorcross-racing husband of seven years Carey Hart think of her plans - is he happy to increase their brood to the size of the Jolie-Pitts? 'I don't want 18 children!' she laughs. 'I want five. Carey is super into it. I'm like, "Carey, can you give me a mixed baby? I really want a mixed baby". He's like, "I cannot physically give you a mixed baby!"' Not that she's in a rush to stack a load of weight on by getting pregnant again. Pink put on 4 stone with Willow, but is now rocking a pair of tight black jeans showcasing ridiculously toned legs. She's not satisfied yet though, wanting to get in better shape for her upcoming gigs.

'I'm almost there, but I'm not in tour shape yet. I mean I train hard; I train five days a week for an hour and a half a day, plus rehearsals. But I eat a lot - I like food and I like wine, carbs, bread, cheese, pasta. The worst sh*t. It's so yummy! Being pregnant was awesome. I knew that as soon as I got pregnant I was going to eat chicken wings and cheesecake.'

A ROCKING BODY - AND BODY IMAGE

A pop star who can't help but get stuck in to a nice round of cheese on toast. Our kind of girl. She's also not one of those celebs who slip irritatingly in to a pair of size six jeans a week after giving birth. 'I thought I'd lose it a lot easier. I'm totally OK with it though and definitely don't spend time thinking about it. It doesn't stop me enjoying my life. I also have the opposite of body dysmorphia where when I'm a bit chubby, I think I look kind of great. I'm like, "Damn, you look good!" And everyone else is like, "No, you're fat". I'm like a 400lb Italian woman on the inside screaming to get out. All I want to do is walk barefoot in my kitchen and eat pasta. I wish fat was in because I'd be so good at it!' She's good at being not fat too, though - you'll see how ripped she is in the video for her single Just Give Me A Reason. In it, things get steamy with semi-naked action involving her and Carey. Fortunately her husband doesn't mind, um, helping out like that. Or their relationship being written about, for that matter. Her single So What! was an account of their break up in 2008, and although they were separated for a year, Carey had a cameo in the video. 'He had never heard the song before the video,' she grins. 'He just trusted me. He has a really good sense of humour though and really thick skin.'

MEN, MARS ETC

Just Give Me A Reason is about how differently she and Carey think, and how women worry about what the smallest gesture means. 'I worry about everything,' she reveals. 'I'll say, "We need to talk about the way you passed me the butter this morning because I feel like it's over between us." And he's like, "I just passed the f**king butter, what are you talking about?!" But we have such good communication now, we've worked on it and are still working on it.' Their happy family is a serious achievement for them both considering how close they were to divorce. Pink puts that down to counselling - which saved their relationship by showing them how to understand each other. 'Carey speaks Italian, I speak Polish and the counsellor translates,' says Pink. 'It's not men's fault that they don't speak your language, it's just you have to figure out a way to get around it.' Does she ever think about what would have happened if it didn't work out? 'I don't know if there's one soul mate for every person,' she muses. 'But I don't believe that was my story. I thought we just weren't finished and Willow proves that. I don't know where life is going to take us, but it's so yummy right now. Both our families were broken and I don't want that for Willow. So if I know I'm being an a**hole then I should just stop because I look at Willow and go, "Is it worth it?" We still fight, we just fight nice.' Pink's realised how different men and women are when it comes to parenting too. 'Women pay more of a price emotionally,' she explains. 'I watch Carey leave the house and he doesn't look back. He's a fantastic father but men deal with it differently. They don't take on guilt. When I'm gone for five minutes, I'm questioning everything. But how wonderful for a girl to grow up seeing her mother doing what she loves. So there are pros and cons.'

LIFE IS GOOD

Having battled drug addiction in her teens, life could have turned out differently for Pink, and she's very grateful it didn't.' I don't know if I would be here without music, as I wasn't travelling down a fantastic path,' she says. 'It's crazy the way it went in my town with people OD'ing. It's terrible.' But life is good for Pink. And once she gets cracking with that rainbow family, there'll be a new chapter. 'I like myself a lot more than I did when I started. I've exorcised a lot of demons,' she says. 'I don't think I'll ever give up performing. But I don't know if I would do it as full-on with more kids. I only have offor on, so I'd have to seriously figure out different speeds.'

'I'd like five kids. I want to adopt. We have four rescue dogs and we'd like some rescue children as well!'
