Pilates mini-ball workout with Leslee Bender.

NEED a variation on your Pilates mat routine? In this fifty-three-minute workout, Pilates educator Leslee Bender squeezes a soft soccer-sized ball between her knees and ankles to add resistance, stability, and support to a mat workout. Bender is a twenty-year fitness veteran and the founder of The Pilates Coach, an organization that helps Pilates trainers operate businesses. She begins the session gently with an explanation of proper breathing technique, and shows how to modify exercises for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Though this is a great workout for the entire body, it focuses on the transverse abdominal muscles--the muscles that stabilize tire pelvis and thus hold the body upright.
