Picture of mystery; Your memories Noted photographer's subjects are a puzzle.

CAN you help solve the mystery of this photograph?

Brian Allen, of Kirkbymoorside found this postcard in excellent condition in an antique centre in Ryedale.

"There is no information on the back but the card probably dates to the early years of the 20th century," says Brian.

"The picture was taken by one Miss Margaret Wright, a photographer of note, whose studio was at 75 Albert Road, Middlesbrough."

Margaret is listed in the Middlesbrough section of Kelly's Directory for 1893, then twice more through 36 years to 1929.

"Margaret Wright must have produced hundreds of quality photographs of people living in the Cleveland area during her career," adds Brian.

"Some of my own family's early photographs have the familiar line of information on their reverse - 'Miss Wright, Photographer, Middlesbro' - or an impressed stamp on the mount of framed pictures, reading 'M. Wright, 75 Albert Road'.

"If anyone knows anything about this group of people, I personally would be interested.

"More importantly, if anyone recognises them as ancestors and would like the original card for their archives, I should be only too glad to forward it."
