Pick up tips to play it safe.

COVENTRY firefighters will be helping to get the "stay safe" message across to youngsters in the city next week.

They will be running a range of activities with local schools, to coincide with Fire Safety Week, which starts on Monday.

In Canley firefighters will be taking an inflatable display, containing fake smoke, to a school. Children will be instructed to go in and find a dummy inside the display.

Secondary school pupils will be given talks on road traffic accidents and encouraged to think about road saftey.

The Stay Safe bus will also be out on the roads, spreading fire saftey advice.

Elsewhere, firefighters will be highlighting the dangers of playing with matches.
