Picasso paints stylish picture of road safety; Motors NEWS Citroen C4 Picasso.
THE new Citroen C4 Picasso seven-seat MPV has scored the highest marks ever in Europe's top safety crash tests.
It is a massive boost for the allnew vehicle which will be aimed at the family market where safety is a top priority.
The C4 Picasso achieved the highest-ever score of 35 points out of a possible 37, and also managed three points for child protection and two points for pedestrian safety.
Its five-star rating from Euro NCAP puts it in the same league as other Citroen models such as the C4, C5, C6 and C8.
Standard safety features on the C4 Picasso include seven airbags, electronic brake force distribution and electronic braking assist plus electronic stability programme with traction control.
Other safety innovations include a lane departure warning system to stop drivers 'wandering', dual-function directional headlamps, a tyre pressure warning system, four Isofix seats to take child seats and seven seatbelt warning lights.
Under the skin, the Picasso pioneers a new approach to energy absorption in frontal impacts with structural inserts made from lightweight honeycomb-polyamide composite to increase body stiffness.
