Physicians Formula plans stock offering.

AZUSA, Calif. -- Physicians Formula Cosmetics Inc. intends to become a publicly traded company.

The supplier has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission to sell $115 million in stock in an initial public offering.

Physicians Formula has stated that it intends to use net proceeds from the sale of common stock to reduce its debt and for general administrative expenses.

The filing also includes the promotion of Ingrid Jackal to chief executive officer from senior vice president of marketing, and of Jeff Rogers to president from his former post as senior vice president.

Physicians Formula plans to apply to list its common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol PHYS.

The company continues to gain space in chain drug and other mass market outlets with such products as Powder Palette and Mineral Wear.
