Photo Album. (CastExpo '02).

Attendees of CastExpo '02 had the opportunity to view honorees from the 2nd Annual AFS Marketing Div/Engineered Casting Solutions Casting Contest at the MODERN CASTING/Engineered Casting Solutions booth.

Wayne Rasmussen, AFS (retired), was honored by the Copper Div. with the David Kunkel Distinguished Service Award.

At the 7th annual Copper Alloy Div. Luncheon, Tony Workman, General Manager, Art Castings of Colorado, spoke on the production of cast bronze art sculptures. His foundry casts artwork for over 180 artists from 32 states.

The second annual Engineered Casting Solutions/AFS Marketing Div. "Casting of the Year" Award was presented to Prototype Casting, Inc.'s, AZ91 D magnesium castings for the InFocus Projector. The castings were converted from plastic injection molding. Accepting the honor at the AFS President's Luncheon were Andrew Austin, InFocus, Patrick Peterson, Mike Kaiser and Brett Peak, Prototype Casting, and Brian Heintz, InFocus.

During the plant tours, several CastExpo attendees toured Superior Aluminum Castings, Inc., Independence, Missouri, a green sand jobbing shop.

At the Sand Div. Dinner, AFS Past President Don Gaertner, Metalcasting Equipment, Inc., is congratulated for his year as president by Incoming AFS President, Paul Cervellero, inductotherm Corp., and Molding Methods & Materials Div. Chairman Joe Ward, International Truck and Engine Corp.

During the entertainment portion of the AFS annual banquet, Jerry Call, AFS, stepped in as the fifth member of the Oak Ridge Boys when he was invited onstage to help sing, "Elvira."

Bruce W. Dienst (r), Simpson Technologies Corp., is congratulated for receiving an AFS Service Citation by his father, AFS Board of Awards Chairman Henry W. Dienst, Simpson Technologies Corp.

Daryl F. Hoyt, Foundry Sand Technology, presented the annual Charles Edgar Hoyt Memorial Lecture, which he titled, "The Future of the Foundry was 'Cast' in the Past."

MODERN CASTING published a 13th issue, The Guide to Exhibits & Technology Showcase, for attendees at CastExpo '02.
