Philippines : Villar, the Cavite women was assigned for the tarpaulin recycling project.

Senator Cynthia Villar reiterated Senator Cynthia Villar's help to a group of women in Dasmarias, Cavite to make bag tarpaulins used in his campaign last election. Villar, chair of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, said the recycling project would benefit from small tailor-made businesses that would provide jobs to women as tailors. "We are very glad that we have now a way for the proper disposal of these used tarpaulins. Through this initiative, we were not only able to recycle used tarpaulins into something useful, we were also able to help women earn additional income for their families , "Villar said.

Christine Joy Ferrer, 27, started the MXD Tailoring last two months in the garage of her rented apartment. Within five years, he worked at his brother's tailoring shop until it closed. He borrowed his machines and started his own business. "I'm really excited because I'm just starting out and Senator Villar has trusted me to make his bags. It's a great help to me and my sewers," Ferrer said. Villar's men brought the 2 x 3 foot stamped to Ferrer's shop to make bags for P16 per piece.

In the first week, they made 550 bags. The more they can bag from the coming tarpaulins from the province. According to Ferrer, his four seamstresses are mothers near his place. Her one sewing baby must also watch her baby. Ferrer borrowed a machine to work while at home. Ferrer said he deeply appreciates Villar's giving a source of additional income to mothers like him. He also watched his children aged 10 and 7 while operating small businesses. The finished products have a dimension of 12 x 18 x 4 inches. It is white. The printed side of the bag is made in it.

The "environmental-friendly substitute" bag bags are more durable in plastic bags. Villar said he will be giving away bags free of charge to promote his advocacy on plastic recycling. The Nacionalista Party senator also started the plastic recycling project where plastics were used in the manufacture of school chairs. In the plastic factory he manufactured in Las Pias, 20 kilos of soft plastics such as food wrappers are recycled and made of plastic chairs with replacement parts and lasts for 20 years these centers are offered at public schools nationwide.
