Philippines,United States : RICE AIRCRAFT SERVICES and EAGLE COPTERS to provide 21 refurbished UH-1 Huey combat utility helicopters to PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE.

US-based Rice Aircraft Services and Canada-based Eagle Copters have received a contract on 22 December 2013 for supply of 21 refurbished UH-1 Huey combat utility helicopters to the Philippine Air Force.

According to Bob Rice, the president of Rice Aircraft, the aircraft will be used for search and rescue and other missions by the Philippine Air Force.

However, the company is incorporating radios onto the aircraft, but does not plan to weaponise them.

Value of the Philippine project was USD30 million, as per a notice issued on the Philippine Department of National Defense's (DND's) website when the bidding initially opened in August 2013.
