Philadelphia Society sponsors 2008 'Green Chemistry' symposium focusing on Waterborne Industrial and Architectural Coatings.
The Technical Committee of the Philadelphia Society for Coatings Technology has announced its plans to host a symposium entitled "Green Chemistry and Its Effect on Waterborne Industrial and Architectural Coatings." The symposium will be held May 6-7, 2008, at Williamson's Restaurant in Horsham, PA.The symposium will consist of the presentation of 12 technical papers given by speakers from the following companies: Rohm and Haas Company, Cognis Corp., Ashland Specialty Chemical Corp., BASF Corp., Troy Corp., Ciba Specialty Chemical Corp., ICI Paints, and Rhodia, Inc.
A list of speakers and their titled lectures will be included in future news releases.
Two keynote speakers will be featured. They include: Dr. John Warner, Director of the Center for Green Chemistry, at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and Dr. Mary Burch, Technical Director, Architectural Coatings, of the Rohm and Haas Company.
A trade show will be presented at the same time as the lecture series in an adjacent area.
There will be no charge to attend the show. Fifty supplier companies to the coatings manufacturing industry will present their newest products and services. A wide variety of raw materials, production equipment, containers, filling equipment, laboratory apparatus, and testing devices for the paint and coatings producer will be displayed.
