Phil joins printing firm in sales.

PHIL Guest has just been appointed as sales & marketing manager for one of the UK's most environmentally-friendly printer companies. Founded over 125 years ago in the Cumbrian market town of Penrith, H&H Reeds Printers Ltd has one of the largest and best-equipped print shops in the North of England serving a growing global client base.

In particular, it's leading the way in environmentally-friendly best practice and is in the top 1% of UK green printers.

Initially Phil will be responsible for securing business in new geographical areas and overseeing the launch of new product ranges. His aim is to promote the company and its green credentials through a co-ordinated marketing approach combining traditional marketing methods with new online initiatives.

Phil, who has extensive management experience, has already worked for H&H Reeds Printers in a consultancy role and is looking forward to making the partnership more permanent.

He explained: "I thrive on looking at new opportunities and my key objective is to developing the business in the long term as it expands into new markets.

"I have always admired the H&H Reeds set-up and strongly believe that my role is to make this very successful company even more successful. Customer needs are changing as they become more aware of environmental issues and the company is very well placed to meet these demands."

Phil who graduated from UCLAN with an Hons degree in Biochemistry & Physiology is highly-skilled in sales & marketing.

His first job was as the first ever graduate trainee manager for Greggs and in subsequent sales roles for Lilly Industries and Smithkline Beecham, he made their products market leaders in their territories.

He then took on a number of project management, training and market development roles including the design and staff training of the National Dispensing Doctor Scheme.

In 2000 to 2001 while working on the GlaxoSmithkline merger, Phil saw the opportunity to launch his own successful business, Catalyst Project Management Ltd selling services such as communication and incentive design to pharmaceutical companies.

In 2006 a family decision to return to his Northern roots lead to him selling his share of Catalyst and founding business and marketing consultancy G-Business Solutions whose clients included BP and AstraZeneca. He is also a qualified Accredited Associate of the Institute for Independent Business.
