Phil's Funky moment.

THE Twang's Phil Etheridge came over all starstruck when he met Jasper Carrott at the launch of Birmingham's bid to host the 2018 World Cup. Despite supporting rival football teams, Villa fan Etheridge declared Bluenose Carrott was a "legend".

And the lead singer with the Birmingham indie band asked for his picture to be taken with the comedian on his mobile.

When he saw his photo with the Funky Moped singer he said: "I'm loving that."

This Sunday, Jasper will be at St Andrew's for the game and Phil will be tuning in to watch with Blues fan and bandmate Martin Saunders.

Tongue-in-cheek, Jasper said: "I predict 8-0 to Villa! It's not so much the game but the aftermath.

"For six months you have to walk around hiding in doorways or watching all the Villa fans scurry away."
