Pharmacokinetics and metabolism in drug design, 3d ed.

Pharmacokinetics and metabolism in drug design, 3d ed.

Smith, Dennis A. et al.

257 pages

Methods and principles in medicinal chemistry; v.51

Two of the original authors have retired and British chemists Charlotte Allerton and Amit S. Kalgutkar have come aboard to replace them. The third edition pays more attention to the role of drug permeability in determining ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) fate, and to drug transport parallel to permeability. New concepts and knowledge of the role of free drug, and drug distribution, clearance, and toxicity are also incorporated. The topics include pharmacokinetics, distribution, renal clearance, toxicity, and ADME screening. Pharmacy students as well as professionals developing and applying pharmaceutical substances have found the book useful.
