Pets: Is that purrsil in your wash?

SNOOKEMS the kitten was trapped in a washing machine for an agonising 45 MINUTES - but got clean away.

The 13-week-old kitty had climbed in for a catnap - when scalding water poured into the machine.

But Snookems was saved by his owner Joanne Stone's four-year-old neighbour Luke Foster-Poole.

He spotted the terrified cat whirling around and innocently asked: "Why is your cat in the washing machine?"

Joanne, 21, of Marlow, Bucks, desperately tried to open the door but had to call the fire brigade when the door jammed.

Amazingly, Snookems was none the worse for his ordeal.

Joanne said: "He was in there for 45 minutes and it was awful to watch.

"But now he is just fine - and really fluffy. At least he smelled lovely and fresh afterwards!"
