Peter Finger: Open Strings (Acoustic Music Records 013429 111734)

Many acoustic guitar recordings of original compositions sound like old folk licks all gussied up, but this set by Peter Finger sounds fresh and original, as if the guitar just happens to be his instrument. I could easily imagine Finger writing string quartets, for his music seems to spring from inspiration beyond guitar music. Although the guitar may sound bigger than life on most stereo systems, the sound is clear and clean and dynamic, making this a most enjoyable recording indeed.-- KWN
