Peshawar Press Club blast speaks barbaric, retrogressive mindset of the miscreants: Ghani.

Peshawar, December 22, 2009 (Frontier Star): The NWFP Governor, Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani has strongly condemned the suicide attack at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday and paid rich tributes to the courage and sacrifice of the Police Head Constable, Muhammad Riaz who embraced martyrdom while intercepting the suicide bomber and saved the press community from more devastation. In a condolence message, Governor has said that the mothers of the courageous persons like Muhammad Riaz indeed also deserve for rich tributes. Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani has assured the bereaved family of the Shaheed head constable to duly acknowledge his great sacrifice, besides extending them every possible support and patronage. He has also assured the bereaved families of all the shuhadda of extending due support as well. The Governor has asked the concerned authorities to ensure proper treatment and care facilities to the injured. Expressing his deep shock and sorrow over the loss of precious lives, the Governor has described the incident a highly cowardly act of terrorism. The incident, he said, itself speaks the barbaric and retrogressive mindset of the miscreants involved in such inhuman acts of extremism. Targeting security forces and public institutions and killing innocent citizens speaks the state of frustration, the elements are suffered with. The Government and the people, the Governor said, are quite conscious to the courageous role and the sensitive nature of responsibilities of the press community and becoming target of suicide attack is one such example. The elements involved in terrorist activities, he added, are the enemies of the country and they would never succeed in their nefarious designs. While expressing his heartfelt sympathies with members of the bereaved families, the Governor has assured that the elements involved in such heinous crimes would be brought to justice. He has also asked the people to fully cooperate with the law enforcement agencies and ensure lasting peace in the area. The Governor has also prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls, courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with patience and early recovery of the injured.
