Peschi for Premier!

Paul Peschisolido has been promised a place in the Premiership by his boyhood hero Kevin Keegan.

Fulham supremo Keegan paid a Second Division record fee of pounds 1.1million for the West Brom forward and insisted: "We haven't been stupid. We've paid the right money for Paul. He's a Premiership quality player and we have to make sure we get there.

"We have a five-year plan and it's achievable with some luck and a lot of hard work."

Peschisolido, who has signed a four-year contract, said he had no problem about dropping a division.

"I want to play in the Premiership and I want to be part of the Fulham adventure," he said. "This club will get there quicker than one like West Brom. Their main aim is to survive in Division One.

"When I came to this country from Canada the only name I had heard of was Kevin Keegan. It is fantastic to work with him."

Only a week ago Keegan and team boss Ray Wilkins broke Fulham's previous transfer record when he paid pounds 500,000 to Arsenal for midfielder Ian Selley.
