Pertwee the Puffin joins rush for tokens.
PUFFIN mascot Pertwee has joined the rush to collect Wish vouchers for the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales.
The charity, based at Parc Slip Nature Reserve in Bridgend, is a wildlife charity that relies on membership subscriptions and donations to manage the reserve and others in the area.
It is one of more than 200 that have been successful in getting a space in the South Wales Echo's new campaign Wish 12, which aims to give out PS25,000 to deserving groups in the region including community groups, clubs, schools, music clubs, playgroups and charities. The more tokens a group has collected, the bigger their share of the money will be.
Any money the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales receives will be used on resources for its visitor centre to help with school and educational events to the reserve.
A spokesman for the charity said: "The visitor centre at Parc Slip is currently undergoing development work. Once this is complete the centre will be available for local community groups and schools to use.
"We will also be holding training course and events for local families.
"The money from the Wish campaign will be spent on resources for our visitor centre to help with school and educational events to the reserve.
"It is a great opportunity for charities and community groups in the South Wales area to access much needed funds at a difficult economic time."
Collect your tokens every day in the Echo until November 17. There are special bonus token days so make sure you never miss a copy of your Echo.
In January we will be printing a supplement detailing how much money each group has been awarded - and cheques will be sent.
