SAN FRANCISCO--The Gourmet Products Show continues to be an important venue for personal care products, as vendors continue to introduce more products here, and retailers look for last minute items for the critical fourth quarter.

Andis is showing several new hair care products and clippers. The Super Turbo 1600 ST-3 is a professional-quality dryer that produces the heat of an 1,875 watt dryer while using 1,600 watts of electricity.

Bausch & Lomb Oral Care is showing a wide variety of electric toothbrushes and other plaque-remover products.

Braun is showing its new Interclean electric flosser designed to floss teeth with a disposable attachment working by centrifugal forces. The firm also is highlighting its Oral-B Ultra plaque remover, Supervolume Twist hair dryer and Flex Integral shaver line, cordless products, including the new Volume Curls brush, and upgraded kitchen products, including the Culinary Series Hand-blender, FlavorSelect with a self-monitoring water filter, and FlavorSelect thermoplus.

Caruso is showing its full line of haircare products including hairdryers and its molecular steam hairsetters.

Conair is highlighting two 1,875 watt hair dryers in its Euro Line. One model is full size in black with blue accents and features two speeds, three heat settings and a cool-shot button. It retails for $36.99. The second model is mid-size and is black with teal accents. It features a three-position switch and a cool shot button. It retails for $34.99.

Conair also is showing its hairdryer with a retractable cord, for traveling and storage. A corded brush for shaping, smoothing, straightening and producing volume, it retails for $15.99.

Dazey is showing several foot baths, hard hat hair dryers and kitchen appliances, including colored fryers and skillets.

Franzus is showing its Mini-Cyclone, tiny hair dryer designed for travel. The unit is palm size and operates on high and low speeds. It comes with a travel pouch and retails for about $25. Franzus also has new garment steamers for traveling under the Travel Smart by Franzus and American Tourister labels.

Helen of Troy is showing haircare products under the Revlon and Vidal Sassoon brands, including hairdryers and hairsetters. The firm also is highlighting its Revlon ladies' shaver.

Hitachi is showing a new Rotary Twin shaver with dual spiral-shaped cutters for a super-smooth finish and super-quiet operation with a floating head, swinging head and head lock and large retractable trimmer. The unit features a charger for one hour of charge. It will retail $279.95.

HoMedics is showing its Back Pleaser massage mat, as well as its new full-length massage pad. The firm also is showing several foot massagers and foot baths, as well as a new Shiatsu unit. The company is unveiling its Mr. Potato Head licensed massager.

Hydrokinetics is showing its Shower Sensations, dual-headed shower system.

Norelco is presenting its Reflex Action Shaving system, featuring "Contour Reflex Action" to automatically adjust shaving heads to the contours of the face. The Micro Action Shaving System features individual floating heads plus custom shave band. The Double Action Shaving System has a lift-and-cut technology. The firm also is showing its Dentiflex Plaque Control System, an electric toothbrush, as well as a Dentiflex System for Kids.

Panasonic is showing its razors featuring the firm's wet/dry technology.

Relaxor is displaying an RTA electronic massager as well as massager mats. The RTA unit is a chaise with a massaging unit. At the opening price point, there is a four-motor unit retailing for $79 which is a massager/seat topper. A nine-motor version retails for $199.

Remington is adding its breakthrough color-change technology, launched on the firm's Smart Setter hairsetter, to curling irons and styling brushes. The Curl Styler with Heat Guides, a styler with Heat Guides circling the barrel of the iron to spread out and direct the heat toward the hair. The color change technology indicates when the proper curling temperature is reached. It will retail for $24.99. Remington also is adding the color change technology to a 3/4 inch curling iron with steam mist, retailing for $19.99.

The Big N' Bouncy curling iron features a dark blue flocked fabric and a jumbo 1 1/4 inch barrel, retailing for $19.99. The Body Builder is a two-in-one styling brush and steam volumizing iron with a 3/4 inch barrel, featuring Thermaloop heated loops for volume. It will retail for $19.99.

Sonicare is showing its Quadpacer, electric toothbrush with ultra-sonic waves to remove plaque.

Sunbeam is showing a new PediSpa, multifunctional settings--including heat, heat/bubbles, heat/massage, heat/massage/bubbles and pedicure--and attachments. The Powerplay Mustache and Beard trimmer with features to make grooming easier, including Speed Select, with numbered settings that can be changed with one hand.

A new series of clippers, Silver Series, features a 15-piece set with a chrome-effect finish for a professional look. In oral care, there is a new Plaque Attack Rechargeable toothbrush featuring nonslip grips and an auto-activation feature that triggers the toothbrush when it comes into contact with the teeth.

The firm also is launching a Playskool Kid's Automatic Toothbrush, Sunbeam's entry into the juvenile market.

Teledyne is showing its showerheads and dental products.

Wahl Clipper Corp. is exhibiting a 15-piece haircutting kit in a trapezoid-shaped window box for ease-of-display. The set features guide combs, scissors, and cleaning brush, and a how-to video.

The firm also has added a corded version of its ProSeries Clipper packaged with accessories, including a quick-detach blade, guard combs and cleaning brush.

Windmere is showing its 1,800-watt styler/dryer with interchangeable attachments, two speeds, and a cool shot. An 1,875 watt dryer features hot fingers and a volumizing diffuser for body. The Shape `N Style hot brush smooth's and shapes.

Zadro Products is showing its Z'Fogless mirror for the bathroom.
