Healthcare product company The Perrigo Company (Nasdaq:PRGO) (Nasdaq:TASE) reported on Tuesday the start of over-the-counter nicotine polacrilex mini lozenge USP, 2 mg (mint flavour) and 4 mg (mint flavour).

Today's launch represents the first to market nicotine mini lozenge products for the store brand market, said the company.

According to the company, its mint flavoured mini lozenges are marketed under retailer and wholesalers' store, or own brand labels and are comparable to GlaxoSmithKline's Nicorette Mini Lozenge.

The Perrigo Company's nicotine polacrilex mini lozenge is indicated to reduce withdrawal symptoms, including nicotine craving, associated with quitting smoking. Nicorette Mini Lozenge is selling at an annual rate estimated at over USD30m at all retail outlets.
