PerkinElmer acquires service provider LabMetrix.

Waltham, MA 3/31/08 -- PerkinElmer has acquired LabMetrix Technologies, a provider of metrology-based multivendor analytical instrument qualification solutions. Terms were not disclosed. In 2007, LabMetrix generated revenues of approximately $5 million. "This acquisition expands our support of customers in regulated markets by combining metrology-based multivendor qualification solutions with PerkinElmer's existing services capabilities," commented PerkinElmer President and CEO Robert F. Friel.

The acquisition will add to PerkinElmer's OneSource suite of laboratory services. LabMetrix provides installation, operation and performance qualification services, as well as performance verification services for a range of lab instruments.
