Performance Food Group acquires Middendorf Meat.
Middendorf generates annual sales of about $100 million, about half of which is represented by the distribution of custom-cut steaks. The company's customers include independent restaurants, private clubs, hotels and other prominent foodservice establishments in St. Louis and surrounding areas.
PFG markets and distributes more than 44,000 national and private label food and food-related products to approximately 33,000 restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, schools, healthcare facilities and other institutions. PFG reported sales for 2001 of $3.2 billion.
