Performance Dashboards and Analysis for Value Creation.
While value creation is its underlying premise, this book covers a wide range of key concepts in finance--so much so that it could be used as a sort of textbook. Indeed, the treatment is text-like, with straightforward prose and charts and tables liberally sprinkled throughout.
Author Alexander is president of a consulting firm focused on improving shareholder value, and he doesn't leave many stones unturned. A partial list of subjects includes: key valuation concepts, linking performance and value, revenue growth and pricing strength, capital effectiveness, cost of capital and the economics of mergers and acquisitions. For financial executives looking to bone up on specific subjects or get a better feel for the value creation process, this would be a good book to have.
