Perfect places for a Valentine's Day treat.
If you are looking to woo a loved one on Valentine's Day, there are four Welsh restaurants that stand out from the crowd. Bodidris Hall Hotel, Llandegla, Wrexham; Tyddyn Llan, Llandrillo, Denbighshire; Fairyhill Hotel & Restaurant, Reynoldston, Swansea, and Druidstone Hotel, Broad Haven, Pembrokeshire are among the UK's 50 most romantic restaurants, in a survey by Rmy Martin Fine Champagne Cognac.
Patricia Hodge, manager at Fairyhill Hotel & Restaurant, above, said, 'We really seem to offer something that appeals to romantic couples - so much so that we've seen several proposals take place.
'We're waiting in anticipation to see what this year's Valentine's Day brings.'
Eileen Livingston, marketing manager at Rmy Martin, added, 'Being a French brand from the heart of Cognac, we know a little something about romance.
'We therefore hope our list of the UK's 50 most romantic restaurants helps inspire people to enjoy the perfect romantic evening with their loved one this Valentine's Day.'
Out of the 20 English counties with restaurants on the Top 50 list, 11 of them are in the south of the country. Northerners face a tougher task to impress loved ones due to a lack of romantic hotspots.
Only three of the 20 English counties with restaurants featured in the list were from the north.
Scotland fared well in the romantic dining stakes with five restaurants listed.
The survey ranked London's top restaurants for romance with Pimlico's La Poule au Pot being a favourite.
The survey, compiled in association with Harden's UK Restaurant Guide 2007, analysed reviews of 1,700 restaurants, cafes and pubs submitted by more than 8,000 regular restaurant goers to this year's Harden's guide.
The ninth edition of Harden's restaurant guide, in association with Rmy Martin Fine Champagne Cognac, is priced at pounds 14.99.
