Perfect form.

I am writing to commend you on the Facts and Figures HIV article in the December 2006 issue ("A Black Plague." News-points). I am the bounder and executive director of two health-related nonprofits in Michigan: Without a Vision The People Perish and the Michigan Minority Health Coalition. WAV is a health education and research organization dedicated to addressing health disparities in the African American community; MMHC is a statewide consortium dedicated to developing strategies and creating partnerships that will improve the health status of Michigan's minority population. Our advocacy work includes testifying before legislative committees and information policy makers about the impact of health policies in minority communities.

This piece is the best work I have seen on HIV in minority communities. Legislators and policy makers often request disparity statistics in a one-page format that can be easily digested, and this graphical depiction of HIV devastation in minority communities is exactly that. Please continue the great work. It is so needed to make a difference in the health outcomes in minority communities.
