Watchfire Compliance Connector to Integrate With Percussion's

Award-Winning Rhythmyx 5 Content Management System;

Firms to Conduct Joint Marketing and Sales

Percussion(R) Software, the first ECM vendor to combine cost-effective, multi-channel delivery and efficient content reuse, and Watchfire, a provider of Website Management software and services, today announced a partnership to integrate Watchfire(R) Compliance Connector (WCC) with Percussion's award-winning Rhythmyx(TM) 5 Enterprise Content Management system (ECM) incorporating website content quality, privacy and accessibility testing into the Rhythmyx workflow. In addition, the firms will conduct joint marketing and sales activities.

"The integration of Rhythmyx 5 and Watchfire Compliance Connector brings together complementary solutions that help improve the quality of web content and reduce the associated risks," said Peter McKay, president and CEO of Watchfire. "Content management solutions, like Rhythmyx, empower content experts to create content for many target audiences. However, companies are exposed to risk every day when content does not adhere to defined corporate standards and industry regulations. This partnership provides organizations with an effective way to integrate automated brand and risk compliance checks into the workflow."

Barry Reynolds, president and CEO of Percussion Software, added, "Many organizations today are running high-volume, multi-channel Web environments where content is created and reused, updated, translated and delivered to audiences all around the world. Our Rhythmyx 5 system enables organizations to fully leverage their content creation and distribution. The integration with Watchfire Compliance Connector means that new content can be tested against quality, privacy and accessibility guidelines at any stage in the publishing process."

Watchfire Compliance Connector is designed to enhance content management systems by testing Web pages managed by the CMS for quality, privacy and accessibility issues. Watchfire Compliance Connector for Rhythmyx 5 incorporates automated compliance standards into the Rhythmyx workflow to help identify and correct more problems up-front. Pages that fail any of the pre-defined compliance tests are automatically passed back to the content creator during the workflow approval process. This reduces the likelihood that problem content will be posted to the Web and also lowers the cost of repairing problems that have gone live. Rhythmyx users will also gain the benefits of Watchfire's detailed reports, which provide critical information about the health of Web sites, and allow users to both monitor content for standards compliance, and fix costly errors before they affect the visitor experience.

Watchfire Compliance Connector uses the scanning engine of Watchfire(R) WebXM(TM) to evaluate pages of web content and produce compliance reports. The software identifies content defects on a page-by-page basis, uncovering brand and risk standards violations such as offensive material, inappropriate logo use, spelling errors, broken links or content that fails to comply with Federal accessibility laws including the U.S. Government's Section 508 as well as global privacy legislation. These issues can impact overall website effectiveness, resulting in brand erosion and potential exposure to litigation from legislation non-compliance. Content creators can use WCC to submit their pages to the scanning engine, either on demand or automatically as part of a regular Rhythmyx workflow.

Rhythmyx 5 is a major new release that builds on Rhythmyx's strong base of flexible CMS technology, extending it into a full enterprise content management solution, and expanding the category by offering the first practical ECM solution optimized for multi-channel content reuse and delivery. Rhythmyx 5 allows knowledge workers to create, manage, deliver and reuse content easily and efficiently in new forms and combinations, minimizing developer intervention, to meet ever-changing business needs. It also features the industry's first and only cost-effective architecture for system scaling - De-Coupled Delivery - which supports new delivery platforms as they are adopted, without the mushrooming costs associated with runaway license fees or custom coding to proprietary CMS APIs required by other vendors.

Rhythmyx 5 also enables organizations to fully leverage their investments in multi-channel content over its lifecycle, with efficient content reuse provided by two unique content management technologies: Intelligent Relationship Management of content and Active Assembly. Rhythmyx allows producers to define content usage and arrangement based on their knowledge of their target audiences using the industry's first graphical Active Assembly capability. Active Assembly enables enterprise content to be organized and grouped for documents and Web pages without the need for costly template redesigns from developers. Rhythmyx's Intelligent Relationships capability enables proactive management of the connections or dependencies among enterprise content ensuring no incorrect or untimely content is published.
