Pepe, Song go so flat.

HANDS up who was surprised when Pepe saw red for Portugal against Germany? No, me neither. He is a ticking time bomb every time he goes on to the pitch and although Thomas Muller didn't exactly cover himself in glory with his theatrics after the initial incident, Pepe made it so easy for the referee to flash a red card after a pathetic headbutt (below).

He is an accident waiting to happen every week with Real Madrid and I think they have had enough.

There will still be a lot of clubs daring enough to take him but I wouldn't go near someone who encourages trouble as much as he does.

Raphael Varane will be the next big thing in Spain and with any luck, Pepe will be the casualty.

I don't like how he goes about his business and the less we see of him the in the future the better.

Another player who walked the plank in the past week for a moment of madness was Alex Song.

Barcelona's Ivory Coast star is a different animal to Pepe. I have sympathy for Song in that he has never shown himself to be that sort of player before.

Mario Mandzukic was cute in how he got across Song to draw a reaction but I have no doubt he will not make that mistake again.
