Thomas L. Kemp, 53, has been appointed managing director at Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a leading independent media merchant bank. Since 1996 Kemp was chairman and CEO of Penton Media Inc.

He began his career at Miller Freeman in San Francisco, where he worked for over 20 years and served as president and COO.

Kemp was named to B-to-B Magazine's "Who's Who in the B-to-B Industry" in 2003, as well as to Tradeshow Week Magazine's "Power Pack 100: The 100 Most Influential People in the Tradeshow Industry" for the past four years.

In 1997, MIN Magazine named Kemp "Business Magazine Person of the Year."
