HOMES and Finance has appointed Adelle Garthwaite to manage its branches in Yarm and Ingleby Barwick. Originally from Ingleby Barwick, Adelle joined the firm in January 2007 and has a BA (Hons) in business management from Teesside University as well as industry-recognised CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) qualifications. Her new role will allow the company's founders - husband and wife Dave and Jackie Bassett - to devote more time to developing the business.

A QUARTET of exporting experts has joined UK Trade and Investment's team of international trade advisers. Geoff Charlesworth of Ripon and Guisborough man Stephen Muir join Willem van Hoorn and Bob Beresford to help Teesside companies develop international trade strategies and win new business abroad.

SIMON CATTERALL, solicitor and partner in law firm Jacksons, has been elected president of the Tees Valley Law Society for 2008/9.

Simon has been a committee member of the Society as well as its public relations officer for several years.

TOWERGATE Risk Solutions has promoted experienced insurance broker, Adrienne Robinson, to new business executive at its Thornaby office. An Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Adrienne has more than 25 years experience of the insurance industry and will be responsible for developing the company's presence in this sector across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire.

YARM woman Jane Wellington has joined PR firm O Communications as account manager after returning to the area from Leeds. In her new role, Jane will handle PR for key clients including space architecture and Fone Logistics.
